In 2018, he was included as the vice-captain in the Indian Under-19 team for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Shubman performed impressively in the tournament with an average of 124.00, scoring 372 runs. He played a crucial role in India’s record fourth World Cup win, batting at number three, and was chosen as the Player of the Tournament.
